Sky Watch

This week's Sky Watch is a couple of pictures of the Cape May Lighthouse. The lighthouse is located in Cape May Point, NJ, but actually is situated in Lower Township, the municipality where I live. Cape May Point is a nice little town. Lily Lake is located in Cape May Point, which I try to visit as often as I can. The people at the Point are very friendly and always there with a "Hello. How are you today?"

I have never really been a big fan of lighthouses, but they are very photogenic. I have many more pictures of this lighthouse that I will post at a future time.

If you would like to share a picture and/or view many other Sky Watch photos from all over the world, please visit our gracious host Tom at Wigger's World.

Once upon a time there was this great and fantastic group of people who blogged and photographed … with a click, click here, a snap, snap there, all of them had a week to look upon the sky … day and night, by dusk or dawn, sunrise or sunset … and always there where great and fantastic photos to be seen when SKY WATCH was opened …

I am one of those proud sky watchers and I really enjoy each and every one of the photos you show us. I really think you are a first class sky watcher!

Ooh, I am a BIG fan of lighthouses. Their stark simplicity always pleases and they are usually located in very wild places. I prefer the second of your images with the silhouette. Very beautiful ...

I'm not a lighthouse fan, either, but you definitely used it effectively in these photos.

That's an interesting view Lisa because most people associate lighthouses with the sea and here is one which appears to be landlocked from the photos. They are both great photos. Have a great weekend. How is your foot?

Beautiful shots. I've always love lighthouses. Now if I could find a way to get some in Indiana. :)

I do like lighthouses, but most times they are captured against an almost cloudless blue sky; I am enjoying yours ith all the clouds and also the way you framed them.

Very nice - I like the way the trees frame the lighthouse.

I liked your second shot best. What's a trip to the shore without a lighthouse picture?

Great pics. Those of us in the midwest can't compete with a lighthouse. Great stuff.
On the swallows on your last post. Have you tried a high pressure washer?

Hallo from North Norway. Last week I saw all Sky Watch Friday photos and they were all great, and I hope to see them all this week too. I love to travel around the world this way.

Thanks for sharing your beautiful sky watch photos and have a great weekend!

These are just lovely. Have a great weekend. Evanston, where I used to live was called the Lighthouse (school) district because of our lighthouse.

Both lovely. I really like the first one.

Thanks for your visit to my SkyWatch Friday post, Lisa.

I'm on the road and in the field doing another photo trip chasing the bloom of our Rosebay Rhododendron (white blossoms) in the northern area of the Southern Appalachian mountains, and with lodging that does not have the most reliable internet service. I won't be home again for a few more days yet, but I did finally develop and upload a few images to update my July 7 Rhododendron post.

Sunrise this morning was a washout, literally, with locally heavy thunderstorms--looks like the rain won't ease up until later morning so I'm going to breakfast soon. But I wanted to try and get around to all who visited my SWF, and others too while I still have good internet access. So, please forgive this cut & paste with a small bit of personalization added--I do appreciate your visit and your comments.

Recently, I turned down a nice commission to do some lighthouse photos because the ones she wanted were in coastal NC and SC--too far to travel and still be worth my while. I should have sent her to you! Very nice photos you have there.

Hi Lisa! These pictures are gorgeous! I love how the lighthouse is "framed" in the first photo, and the clouds are wonderfully dramatic.

Lighthouses are so pretty and I'd say they get photographed a lot!

In regard to riding a horse, yes I rode all my life up until the age of 30 or so. I love horses! I grew up on a horse!
